We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Manager, Accounts Receivable to lead our AR function within our Finance Shared Services in Chennai. In this key hybrid role, you will oversee all aspects of the accounts receivable process for a global portfolio, ensuring the timely collection of payments, maintaining strong client relationships, and optimizing cash flow. You will manage a team, develop strategic improvements, and provide critical insights to senior management. Your Mission: Strategically Manage Global Receivables & Team Performance
You will be responsible for the end-to-end accounts receivable cycle, from invoicing accuracy to cash application and collections strategy.
What You Will Be Doing:
- Lead & Develop the AR Team: Manage and mentor the accounts receivable team to ensure accurate, efficient processing of invoices, credit memos, and customer payments.
- Develop & Implement AR Strategy: Create and execute strategies to optimize the accounts receivable process, reduce Days Sales Outstanding (DSO), and minimize delinquencies and bad debt.
- Monitor & Drive Collections: Proactively monitor aging reports, lead the follow-up on overdue accounts, and implement effective collection tactics to facilitate timely payments.
- Collaborate for Issue Resolution: Work closely with Sales, Project Management, and Legal teams to resolve complex billing issues, contract discrepancies, and client disputes.
- Reporting & Analysis: Provide regular, insightful reports and analysis on AR performance, cash flow forecasts, and key metrics to senior finance management.
- Ensure Process Compliance: Maintain strong internal controls and ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
Who You Are: The Ideal Candidate
You are a seasoned AR professional with proven leadership skills and a strategic mindset for improving financial operations.
Your Profile:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in accounts receivable management, including team leadership, within a large multinational corporation, preferably in services (CRO, IT, BPO) or healthcare.
- Strong end-to-end knowledge of accounts receivable processes, credit management, collections best practices, and accounting principles.
- Proficiency in major accounting software (e.g., Oracle, SAP) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills for data analysis and reporting.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and client relationship management skills.
- Proven ability to manage a team, drive process improvements, and deliver results in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
