Lead Strategic Site Agreements to Accelerate Clinical Research
As the Director of Site Budgeting & Contracting (SB&C) for APAC, you will be responsible for the strategic leadership and operational delivery of all site-level financial and contractual agreements for Takeda's clinical trials. You will manage a team of specialists, oversee Functional Service Provider (FSP) partners, and drive innovative processes to optimize budget negotiations and accelerate site activation across the region. Your leadership will ensure fair market value, compliance, and efficiency, directly enabling the timely start of critical clinical research.
Your Key Accountabilities
Strategic Leadership & Team Management:
- Provide line management, mentoring, and development for the APAC SB&C team, fostering a high-performance culture focused on excellence and negotiation.
- Oversee the project deliverables of Functional Service Provider (FSP) partners, ensuring alignment with Takeda’s standards and timelines.
- Act as a role model for Takeda’s values, championing integrity, collaboration, and patient focus in all negotiations and processes.
Process Excellence & Innovation:
- Define, develop, and deliver the regional SB&C strategy and operational plan, ensuring consistent standards and TA-aligned approaches across the project portfolio.
- Drive the creation and implementation of innovative solutions, tools, and data-driven methodologies to improve negotiation efficiency and accelerate site start-up timelines.
- Leverage leading-edge trial optimization tools and database structures to inform global budgeting strategies and modeling.
Cross-Functional Partnership & Oversight:
- Partner with CROs, Clinical Operations, and Takeda Alliance Unit (TAU) partners to improve overall SB&C metrics and implement effective, scalable processes.
- Establish and monitor country and site-level deliverables with CROs, proactively identifying and remediating potential delays.
- Serve as the primary point of escalation for complex contractual and budgetary issues, facilitating resolution to keep studies on track.
- Develop and manage a resourcing plan to ensure SB&C tasks are aligned with aggressive site activation timelines.
Your Profile: Education & Competencies
Education & Experience:
- BS degree or international equivalent (advanced degree preferred).
- Extensive experience (8+ years) in clinical research site contracting, budgeting, and negotiation within a pharmaceutical company or CRO, with a proven track record of increasing responsibility.
- More than 5 years of direct, hands-on responsibility for site budgeting and contracting oversight and/or negotiation.
- Direct experience in the pharmaceutical industry is required, with strong expertise in APAC-specific site start-up strategies and negotiation landscapes.
- Proven experience in line management and working effectively in a global matrix environment.
