The Opportunity: Patient Journey Partner
Healthcare is transforming. With radical innovation, patient empowerment, and evolving stakeholder needs, the traditional roles of yesterday are no longer sufficient. The Patient Journey Partner (PJP) is an empowered, agnostic leader—the local face of Roche—accountable for delivering better outcomes for patients, communities, and healthcare systems, faster.
This is not a traditional commercial or medical role. It carries no sales targets or incentives. Instead, you will be the end-to-end business owner of a therapeutic area, solving systemic constraints across the patient journey. You will co-create meaningful solutions by deeply understanding stakeholder needs and connecting Roche’s capabilities to where they matter most.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Commercial Leadership & Ecosystem Ownership
- Act as the strategic business owner for the assigned disease area, accountable for achieving patient impact and commercial success.
- Develop and execute local strategies that address ecosystem constraints and align with Roche’s global vision.
- Steward Roche’s portfolio through its lifecycle, maximizing patient access through integrated medical and commercial approaches.
- Prioritize strategic initiatives and mobilize resources from across the Roche network to deliver on the most impactful opportunities.
Leadership in a Networked Organization
- Orchestrate cross-functional “swarm” teams—influencing without formal authority—to align medical, access, and operational experts toward a shared vision.
- Operate with an agile mindset: experiment, learn rapidly, and pivot when needed, with the courage to stop what isn’t working.
- Serve as an empowered decision-maker, pulling in expertise from local and global networks to solve complex challenges.
- Provide clear strategic direction while empowering teams to execute with autonomy.
Stakeholder Engagement & Co-Creation
- Be the trusted, senior point of contact for Healthcare Professionals, Therapeutic Area Experts, and Patient Advocacy Groups.
- Partner deeply to identify shared purpose and co-create solutions that remove barriers in the patient journey.
- Bring the “outside-in” perspective—gathering ecosystem insights to shape Roche’s innovation and strategy.
- Ensure every interaction with Roche delivers a seamless, valued experience.

Experience & Qualifications
- Proven experience leading cross-functional teams and developing complex strategies in healthcare.
- Strong commercial acumen and expertise in customer-centric approaches.
- Practical experience in agile ways of working, with an outcomes-oriented mindset.
- Deep knowledge of the therapeutic area and patient journey, enabling high-level clinical engagement.
- University degree in Science, Economics, or Business; an advanced degree (MBA, MSc, PhD) is preferred.
