We're seeking a visionary Lead System Designer to join our Plasma-Derived Therapies (PDT) Technology ecosystem. Your Mission
As Lead System Designer, you'll serve as the senior technical design authority guiding the evolution of PDT applications. You'll combine deep solution design expertise, data-driven thinking, and AI-accelerated engineering to ensure our systems are scalable, resilient, secure, and intelligence-enabled. This isn't just about designing software—it's about designing systems that enable life-saving therapies.
How You'll Contribute
🎯 Application & Solution Design
- Lead solution design using Domain-Driven Design (DDD) principles, creating bounded contexts, aggregates, and ubiquitous language that align with business capabilities.
- Architect systems using modern patterns: microservices, event-driven workflows, cloud-native components, and distributed compute models.
- Create reusable design blueprints, canonical models, and integration frameworks that ensure consistency across the PDT ecosystem.
- Select appropriate patterns (CQRS, Saga, hexagonal architecture) based on suitability, longevity, and simplicity.
- Facilitate solution review forums, ensuring designs meet standards for performance, resilience, and cost-effectiveness.
🏗️ Strategic System & Platform Design
- Guide the structural evolution of PDT applications across NextJS, Node.js, ReactJS, SQL/NoSQL, Heroku, AWS, and EKS.
- Establish design governance, standards, and decision frameworks that enable predictable, high-quality outcomes.
- Lead modernization initiatives, refactoring legacy systems, and designing cloud transitions.
- Serve as the design backbone ensuring cohesion across cross-product teams.
🤖 AI-Infused Product & Solution Design
- Introduce Agentic AI concepts into solution models, workflows, observability, and developer tooling.
- Design solutions incorporating LLMs, embeddings, vector search, autonomous agents, and AI-powered insights.
- Establish AI-ready design patterns for semantic data layers, event enrichment, and intelligent decisioning.
- Partner with data and platform teams to define data structures that enable AI features at scale.
📊 Data & AI Orientation
- Leverage operational telemetry and analytics to inform solution design decisions.
- Embed data quality, lineage, and consistency rules within system designs to support AI-driven behaviors.
- Identify opportunities to apply AI/ML fundamentals for enhanced user experience, workflow automation, and anomaly detection.
⚡ AI-Augmented Developer Experience
- Champion adoption of AI-empowered engineering platforms including GitHub Copilot and intelligent reasoning engines.
- Define guidelines for using AI tools in design validation, code generation, testing, and refactoring.
- Integrate AI-assisted processes for generating boilerplate components, design templates, and impact analysis.
👥 Technical Leadership & Mentorship
- Conduct solution reviews, design assessments, and technical deep-dives to maintain quality.
- Develop reusable artefacts: design templates, API models, logical flow diagrams, and deployment models.
- Mentor technical leads and senior engineers, strengthening design thinking across teams.
- Facilitate solution workshops and collaborative decision-making forums.
What You'll Bring
Essential Requirements
- 14+ years of experience in system design, solution architecture, and enterprise-scale application development.
- Deep expertise across NextJS, Node.js, ReactJS, SQL/NoSQL, Heroku, AWS, EKS, and event-driven architectures.
- Proven track record designing scalable multi-cloud and cloud-agnostic platforms.
- Strong experience building secure, resilient, high-availability public-facing web and mobile applications.
- Deep understanding of distributed caching, zero-trust design patterns, and SEO optimization.
- Expertise in Domain-Driven Design, microservices, API modeling, and distributed systems.
- Experience architecting multi-region solutions for business continuity and disaster recovery.
- Strong grounding in DevSecOps pipelines, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and security-by-design.
- Excellent communication skills with ability to simplify complexity and drive alignment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes/EKS, and container orchestration.
- Familiarity with secure engineering tools: CodeQL, SonarCloud, JFrog, DAST.
- Experience with event-streaming technologies: Kafka, AWS SQS/SNS.
- Hands-on use of AI platform tools: GitHub Copilot, Azure AI coding tools.
- Exposure to MLOps concepts or AI-enhanced system designs.
- Experience in regulated environments (healthcare, biotech, pharmaceuticals).
- Working understanding of AI/ML fundamentals and integrating AI features into solutions.
