THE OPPORTUNITY
Cochlear's global Workday Squad is seeking a Workday Integration Analyst to join our team in Kuala Lumpur. In this role, you will take ownership of the integrations that power our HR and Payroll ecosystem across the organisation.
You will deliver stable, secure, and scalable Workday solutions while supporting high-impact initiatives across a global organisation. Working closely with HR process owners, IT teams, and external vendors, you will design, implement, and support Workday functional and technical changes.
This is a hands-on technical role where you will build, operate, and continuously improve integrations across Workday HCM, Benefits, Time, Payroll, Talent, and Workforce Planning.

WHAT YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR
Integration Design and Development
Design, build, support, and enhance Workday integrations using Workday Studio, Core Connectors (PECI, CCB, CCTPP), and EIBs. Create solutions that meet business requirements while maintaining security, scalability, and performance standards.
Integration Monitoring and Support
Monitor and troubleshoot integrations across Workday, Boomi, and SFTP platforms. Ensure stability and data integrity across all integrated systems. Support Boomi integration processes including error monitoring, root-cause analysis, and recovery. Own end-to-end integration monitoring, including Workday Integration Events and downstream acknowledgements.
Vendor and Infrastructure Coordination
Manage SFTP integrations with global payroll vendors. Coordinate issue resolution with infrastructure teams. Support PGP and SSH key rotations to ensure secure data exchange and maintain compliance with security standards.
Workday Configuration and Support
Configure and support Workday HCM modules including Core HCM, Security, Business Processes, Compensation, and Absence. Manage Workday security roles and access, enforcing governance and least-privilege principles. Provide Level 2 BAU support for Workday HCM and integration issues.
Change Management
Perform impact analysis for system changes. Conduct unit testing and support User Acceptance Testing. Ensure changes are thoroughly tested and validated before deployment to production.
Agile Delivery
Participate in Agile delivery processes. Contribute to user stories, backlog refinement, sprint planning, and testing using Jira and Confluence. Collaborate with team members to deliver high-quality outcomes.
Continuous Improvement
Identify and drive continuous improvement opportunities across Workday processes and integrations. Propose enhancements that increase efficiency, reliability, or user experience.
Documentation
Maintain clear technical and operational documentation. Ensure documentation supports audits, knowledge transfer, and future enhancements.
POSITION SPECIFIC SKILLS AND CHALLENGES
This role is ideal for someone who:
Has hands-on experience with Workday Studio, Core Connectors (PECI, CCB, CCTPP), EIBs, and integration events.
Can build and support integrations involving multi-file payloads, conditional orchestration, chunking, and parallelization.
Understands SaaS architecture, APIs (SOAP/REST), XML, XSLT, ETV/XTT, SFTP, PGP/SSH.
Has experience operating integrations in production environments, including error monitoring, root-cause analysis, and recovery.
Can balance BAU support and project delivery, managing competing priorities without compromising quality.
Is comfortable working in a matrixed global environment, collaborating with Payroll vendors, HR stakeholders, and IT teams.
Has a strong focus on security, documentation, and governance.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Workday Experience
Minimum 3 years of Workday HCM and Workday integrations experience
Strong experience with Workday Studio, Core Connectors (PECI, CCB, CCTPP), and EIBs
Solid understanding of Workday functional areas and HR processes
Technical Skills
Solid understanding of APIs, SOAP/REST, XML, XSLT, ETV/XTT, SFTP, and PGP/SSH
Experience with integration monitoring and troubleshooting
Familiarity with Dell Boomi as a middleware platform is advantageous
Process Knowledge
Strong HR process knowledge and Workday functional understanding
Experience with Agile delivery and testing practices including UAT and test case development
Communication
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Ability to work effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders across a global organisation
Education
Minimum Bachelor's degree in Business, IT, or equivalent
A TYPICAL WEEK MIGHT INCLUDE
Monday
Review integration monitoring dashboards from the weekend. Address any alerts or failed integrations. Participate in sprint planning for the upcoming iteration.
Tuesday
Design a new integration using Workday Studio to connect with a global payroll vendor. Document the design approach and review with stakeholders.
Wednesday
Troubleshoot a production integration issue, performing root-cause analysis and implementing a fix. Update documentation with lessons learned.
Thursday
Support UAT for a planned Workday update, reviewing test results and addressing any issues identified by business users.
Friday
Participate in backlog refinement, estimating effort for upcoming integration requests. Coordinate with infrastructure team on upcoming PGP key rotations.
WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE
In the First 90 Days
You understand Cochlear's Workday landscape and integration architecture. You have built relationships with key stakeholders in HR, IT, and payroll vendor teams. You are independently monitoring integrations and addressing routine issues.
In the First Year
You are designing and building integrations with minimal supervision. You have contributed to at least one significant integration project. You are seen as a reliable resource for integration support and troubleshooting.

You have deep expertise in Cochlear's integration landscape. You are driving continuous improvements and mentoring newer team members. You are contributing to integration strategy and architecture decisions.
