THE ROLE
We are looking for a Utility Technician to join our engineering team. In this role, you will maintain the utility systems that keep our manufacturing operations running. Boilers, chillers, air compressors—these are the critical systems that production depends on every day.
You will perform maintenance, troubleshoot issues, respond to emergencies, and ensure everything operates at peak efficiency. When systems run smoothly, production runs smoothly.

JOB PURPOSE
Maintain utility assets and machinery in optimal running condition while adhering to safety, 5S, and company regulations. Drive performance through the HARTALEGA Way, embracing SHIELD values, ESG principles, and operational excellence.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Maintenance and Repairs
Perform installation, breakdown maintenance, and preventive maintenance for utility department equipment. When equipment fails, you respond quickly and implement effective repairs to minimise downtime.
System Operations
Operate and maintain boilers, chillers, and air compressor systems in optimized conditions. Monitor system performance and adjust parameters as needed to ensure efficient operation.
Inspections and Reporting
Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance according to schedules. Report defects or required repairs to supervisors or engineers promptly. Maintain proper documentation and records in compliance with ISO standards, including checklists and commissioning reports.
Problem Investigation
Investigate utility-related problems and implement effective solutions. Identify root causes of issues and take corrective action to prevent recurrence.
Emergency Response
Respond to abnormal or emergency situations with immediate corrective action. Protect personnel, equipment, and operations during critical events.
Performance Improvement
Drive improvements in overall equipment efficiency by reducing downtime and preventing breakdowns. Identify opportunities to enhance reliability and performance.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Liaise with other departments or plants on activities requiring cross-functional collaboration. Work with colleagues across the organisation to support operational goals.
Housekeeping and Safety
Maintain general housekeeping of the work area. Adhere to HSE policies and procedures. Follow the HARTALEGA Way, embracing SHIELD values, ESG principles, and operational excellence.
Tool and Equipment Management
Manage and safeguard tools, equipment, and properties. Ensure all resources are maintained and accounted for.
Continuous Learning
Continuously upgrade skills through training and development opportunities. Stay current with best practices in utility systems maintenance.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Education
SPM / Certificate / Diploma in Engineering or related field.
Experience
Previous experience in utility systems maintenance, preferably in a manufacturing environment. Experience with boilers, chillers, and air compressor systems is highly valued.
Technical Skills
Knowledge of utility systems operation and maintenance. Ability to perform installation, breakdown maintenance, and preventive maintenance. Familiarity with ISO documentation requirements.

A DAY IN THE LIFE
Morning
You arrive and receive handover from the previous shift. You review equipment status and any outstanding issues. You begin your routine inspections of boilers, chillers, and air compressor systems.
Mid-Day
You notice a minor issue with a chiller and troubleshoot the problem. You implement a fix and document the activity. You coordinate with the production department on their utility requirements for the upcoming shift.
Afternoon
You perform scheduled preventive maintenance on an air compressor. You complete the necessary checklists and update maintenance records. You ensure your work area is clean and organized.
End of Shift
You provide clear handover to the incoming shift, noting any ongoing issues or completed work. You report to your supervisor on the day's activities.

Equipment Reliability
Utility systems operate reliably with minimal unplanned downtime. Preventive maintenance is completed on schedule. Issues are identified and resolved before they cause failures.
Documentation
All maintenance activities are properly documented. Records are complete, accurate, and compliant with ISO standards.

Work is performed safely with no incidents. HSE policies are followed consistently. The work area is clean and well-organised.
