THE ROLE
We are seeking a Head of Data Management to join our growing team. This full-time position can be based in Brisbane, Melbourne, or Sydney.
The Data function provides strategic leadership across clinical data, study design, and study builds—enabling the safe, efficient, and high-quality delivery of clinical trials at Nucleus Network.
As Head of Data, you will own the global data and study build strategy. You will ensure scalable, consistent, and compliant approaches that support operational excellence and innovation across our international portfolio.

Clinical trials generate enormous amounts of data. Every patient assessment, every laboratory result, every safety measurement must be captured accurately and managed with absolute integrity. The quality of this data determines whether therapies can be approved and reach patients.
The Head of Data Management ensures Nucleus Network's data operations meet this standard. You will lead the teams that design studies, build databases, and manage clinical data across the trial lifecycle. Your leadership directly impacts the quality, efficiency, and regulatory compliance of every trial we conduct.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategic and Enterprise Leadership
Lead global clinical data management, study design, and study build activities across Nucleus Network's international footprint. Set and deliver the enterprise data and study build strategy aligned to operations, quality, and regulatory requirements. Drive standardisation, scalability, and consistency across regions.
Study Build and Data Governance
Establish global frameworks and governance for study design and data management. Ensure data integrity, quality oversight, and regulatory compliance with ICH-GCP and SOPs. Lead continuous improvement across study builds, data flows, and systems.
Operational Partnership
Partner with Project Delivery, Medical Operations, Quality, Laboratory, and Pharmacy to embed data excellence across the trial lifecycle. Provide expert input into feasibility, study setup, risk identification, and mitigation.
People Leadership
Lead and develop high-performing specialist teams across clinical data and study design. Build capability, succession, and a strong performance culture aligned to Nucleus Network values.
Innovation and Global Alignment
Drive alignment across Nucleus Network and Hammersmith Medicines Research. Lead innovative delivery models leveraging technology, AI, and global workforce solutions to improve efficiency and reduce cost.
REQUIREMENTS
Experience
5+ years in data management with a proven track record of leading successful data initiatives. Demonstrated experience in clinical trials or equivalent environment. Experience in data management within a clinical trial site or CRO is required.
Regulatory Knowledge
Proven knowledge of Good Clinical Practice and Good Documentation Practice. Understanding of regulatory requirements applicable to clinical trial data.
Technical Expertise
In-depth knowledge of data management principles, tools, and technologies. Proficient in data modelling, data governance, data quality management, and data analytics. Familiarity with clinical trial databases and EDC systems.
Leadership Skills
Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and develop high-performing teams. Experience building capability and succession within specialist functions.
Problem-Solving
Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, and decision-making skills. Ability to navigate complex challenges and identify effective solutions.
Communication
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. Ability to influence and partner effectively across functions and regions.
Education
Tertiary qualification in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
