About the Role
The Technical Communications and Localisation (TCL) Coordinator is responsible for providing operational support on a team level to ensure execution of labelling updates and introduction during theproduct lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
1. Operational support
- Coordinate the introduction of labelling and associated documents into Cochlear’s controlled documentation management system.
- Monitor specific product lifecycle management tasks and escalate where necessary.
- Conduct print proofing and first-off approval checks for labels and Instructions for Use.
- Conduct peer reviews of label and Instructions for Use artworks as well as procurement specifications.
- Create and/or update Instructions for Use monthly reports for web publishing.
- Maintain and distribute matrix of all labelling assets, where used, and status.
- Create and maintain labelling print procurement specifications.
2. Documentation and collaboration
- Develop and publish documents while adhering to Cochlear quality procedures.
- Work collaboratively with TCL project managers to ensure timely delivery of labelling (e.g. artworks) and associated documentation (e.g. procurement specifications) for regulatory submissions and product launches.
- Engage in and build positive working relationships with global teams to share linguistic assets and best practices.
3. Coordination
- Coordinate projects or specific project phases with support from TCL project managers where needed.
- Support the team with reporting on project status.
- Coordinate reviews, linguistic verification and approvals of deliverables, liaising with review teams to ensure high quality translated deliverables.
- Perform quality assurance checks on deliverables to assure quality outcomes.
- Complete additional team coordination tasks as required in delivering projects.
4. Quality Control
- Adhere to control mechanisms to ensure high quality outputs of deliverables.
- Ensure regulatory compliance of all deliverables by working closely with TCL project managers.
5. Process improvement
- Participate in TCL process improvement initiatives by providing input on tools, processes and systems to support a high-quality project coordination function and support the design and implementation of process improvements.
- Participate in reviews of control mechanisms to ensure high quality outputs of translation deliverables.
- Contribute to regular reviews of the project coordination function and supportive infrastructure.
- Participate in post-project reviews, and support identified improvements.
6. Team Role (Individual contributor):
- Follow relevant quality procedures to deliver quality products and services.
- Contribute ideas on systems and process methods to improve deliverables.
- Work safely, complying with all safety procedures, rules and instructions; and reporting workplace hazards, incidents or injuries to manager.

- Tertiary qualification (degree, accreditation, or equivalent) in relevant field.

- Systematic, disciplined approach to managing and tracking work requests, label changes and current activity status.
- Ability to work independently with limited guidance.

Desired Skills
- Demonstrated project coordination skills and the ability to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously.
- Project coordination experience within the medical device and/or localisation industry.
- Experience working with workflow tools.
- Understanding of software such as content management systems, translation management systems computer-assisted translation tools.
- Linguistic awareness and/or knowledge of other languages.
- Experience working with external suppliers (e.g. language service providers, printers).
- Experience working in a highly regulated environment.
- Adobe InDesign and Adobe Illustrator editing skills.
- Excellent command of written and spoken English.
- Strong proofing skills with excellent attention to detail.
