Your Role: Ensure Quality at the Microbial Level
As a Microbiology / Environmental Monitoring Technician, you will be a vital part of our QC team, responsible for testing and monitoring to ensure our pharmaceutical manufacturing environments and products meet the highest standards of safety, quality, and sterility (cGMP). This is an excellent entry-point into a meaningful career in pharmaceutical quality control with a global leader.
Your Key Responsibilities
Technical & Testing Activities:
- Perform routine and non-routine microbiological testing including Bioburden, LAL (Endotoxin), and microbial plating/counting of environmental, raw material, and product samples.
- Execute Environmental Monitoring (EM) activities: air (HVAC, BSC), surface, personnel (fingertips), and utility sampling (water, clean steam, compressed gases).
- Document and review results in the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) in strict accordance with cGMP procedures.
- Prepare trend graphs and support data analysis for product lot release.
Laboratory Operations & Compliance:
- Manage sample receipt, chain of custody, storage, and shipment to receiving labs.
- Support general lab operations: housekeeping, inventory management, logbook maintenance, and document archival.
- Participate in method qualification/validation, process improvement projects, and investigations into microbial contamination.
- Ensure timely completion of all required cGMP and safety training.
Teamwork & Continuous Improvement:
- Work collaboratively as a proactive team player to meet team objectives and support manufacturing release timelines.
- Embody Lean principles and contribute to continuous improvement of laboratory procedures.
- Comply with all Safety, Health & Environment (SHE) and site security requirements.
Who You Are
Essential Qualifications:
- Diploma in Microbiology, Biology, Biochemistry, or a related life science field. Candidates with GCE 'A' Levels (Science) and a strong interest in microbiology are also welcome.
- Basic understanding of microbiological principles and a strong willingness to learn.
- A collaborative, proactive, and detail-oriented mindset.
- Good verbal and written communication skills in English.
Preferred/Requirements:
- Willingness to work at our Tuas site (company shuttle provided).
- Ability to work weekends, off-shifts, and overtime as required by the production schedule.
