Lead Cell Line Development for Next-Generation Biologics
Join the Global Leaders in Biopharmaceutical Research
Lambda Therapeutic Research is a premier global Clinical Research Organization (CRO) driving innovation in drug development. With our headquarters in Ahmedabad and a strategic international presence, we deliver end-to-end scientific solutions. We are expanding our advanced Cell Line Development team and seeking an experienced scientist to lead critical projects for global innovator and biotech partners.
In this hands-on leadership role, you will be central to constructing the foundational cell lines that enable the production of novel biologic therapeutics. Your expertise will bridge molecular biology, cell culture, and process development to deliver robust, high-yielding clones for our clients' pipelines.
Key Responsibilities
Molecular Construction & Transfection
- Design and construct single and double gene expression vectors for mammalian systems.
- Execute transfection of CHO-GS (-) cell lines to generate and finalize minipools.
Clone Selection & Characterization
- Lead single-cell seeding activities for monoclonal cell line generation.
- Plan and execute fed-batch studies for minipools and monoclones to analyze critical titre and quality attributes (e.g., product quality, growth, stability).
- Be responsible for delivering and transferring robust, high-performing clones to the Process Development team.
Technical Leadership & Compliance
- Apply understanding in the development of GMP cell banks to support process development.
- Author, review, and maintain department-specific Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Study/Lab Plans (SLPs).
- Prepare and review comprehensive cell line development reports for mammalian and microbial projects.
Lab & Team Management
- Manage laboratory vendors for equipment and critical reagents.
- Oversee in-house laboratory inventories and ensure resource availability.
- Design, plan, and execute complex experimental studies independently.
- Provide technical training, guidance, and mentorship to junior team members.
Qualifications & Experience
Essential Requirements:
- MSc or MTech in Biochemistry, Genetics, Biotechnology, or a closely related field.
- 8 to 12 years of direct, hands-on experience in mammalian cell line development within a biopharmaceutical, biotech, or relevant contract research laboratory.
- Proven expertise in vector construction, CHO cell transfection, single-cell cloning, and clone screening methodologies.
- Extensive experience in planning and analyzing fed-batch shake flask studies for clone selection.
- Strong background in technical documentation: SOPs, protocols, and technical reports.
- Demonstrated ability to manage laboratory operations and vendor relationships.
Preferred Attributes:
- Experience with platform cell line development workflows for monoclonal antibodies or other complex biologics.
- Familiarity with regulatory expectations (GMP/ICH) for cell bank generation.
- Proven track record of successfully transferring clones to Process Development teams.
- Experience with microbial expression systems is a significant advantage.
- Strong leadership skills and a commitment to mentoring and team development.
