The Opportunity
Join Cochlear as a Senior Systems Specialist – MES in Kuala Lumpur, where you will play a pivotal role in driving the digital transformation of our manufacturing operations. You will be responsible for the implementation, support, and continuous improvement of our Manufacturing Execution System (MES) at a site level. Acting as a Subject Matter Expert (SME), you’ll collaborate with global teams to shape the future of smart, compliant manufacturing for life-changing hearing implants.

đź“‹ Responsibilities:
⚙️ MES System Expertise & Configuration
- Act as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for MES functionalities, guiding system use and ensuring best practices.
- Manage MES master data: process flows, products, BOMs, tools, and checklists.
- Configure MES solutions to meet site needs while aligning with global templates and standards.
- Liaise with IT/OT teams to ensure seamless MES integration with production systems.
🚀 Project Management & Implementation
- Lead end-to-end MES implementation projects: planning, scheduling, and resource management.
- Develop and execute test plans and validation scripts to ensure system performance before go-live.
- Monitor progress, manage risks, and ensure on-time, in-scope delivery.
🔄 Change Management & Training
- Assist in developing change management strategies to drive MES adoption.
- Engage stakeholders at all levels to promote system benefits and secure buy-in.
- Coordinate and deliver training programs for operators, engineers, supervisors, and maintenance staff.
- Evaluate training effectiveness and update materials accordingly.
đź”§ Support, Troubleshooting & Optimization
- Provide ongoing support to MES users, including issue resolution and performance monitoring.
- Analyze system usage to identify improvement opportunities and implement enhancements.
- Ensure system documentation and compliance meet FDA, ISO, and regulatory standards.
👤 Key Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (Engineering, IT, Computer Science, or similar).
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in MES, systems engineering, or manufacturing systems.
- Proven expertise in MES configuration, implementation, and support.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, automation, and quality control.
- Knowledge of regulatory standards (FDA, ISO) in medical devices or highly regulated industries.
- Technical proficiency in:
- C#, .NET, SQL Server, HTML5, JavaScript
- Web frameworks (e.g., Angular)
- PowerShell or scripting languages
- RESTful APIs and debugging tools
- Experience with Critical Manufacturing MES or similar COTS platforms (highly regarded).
- Strong project management, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Fluent in English.
