IM8 is our newest venture, a next-generation health and wellness brand co-founded with global icon David Beckham. Launched in 2024, IM8 has become one of the fastest-growing supplement brands in the world within just six months.
We are looking for a senior, hands-on data engineering leader to own IM8’s data foundation end-to-end.
This role is ideal for someone who has designed and operated data platforms in a DTC / e-commerce environment, is technically strong, and can operate independently at high velocity. You will start hands-on and evolve the function over time—setting standards, making architectural decisions, and eventually building the data team.
You will partner closely with Growth, Product, and Operations to ensure data is trusted, accessible, and decision-ready.
What You’ll Do
- Own IM8’s data platform end-to-end
- Take full ownership of the company’s data architecture across growth, commerce, lifecycle, and operations.
- Design and operate a scalable analytics foundation
- Lead the design and evolution of a modern, analytics-ready data platform that brings together data from core business systems into a coherent, well-modeled foundation.
- Build and maintain high-quality data pipelines
- Develop and operate reliable pipelines ingesting data from platforms such as Shopify, GA4, Klaviyo, Triple Whale, subscription and fulfillment systems, ensuring accuracy, freshness, and resilience.
- Enable core DTC and growth analytics
- Support key use cases including customer lifecycle analysis, CAC/LTV, retention and churn, marketing performance and attribution, and operational insights.
- Set data quality, modeling, and governance standards
- Define data models, metrics, documentation, and quality checks so teams can confidently self-serve insights.
- Partner cross-functionally
- Work closely with Growth, Product, Finance, and Operations to translate business questions into scalable data solutions and proactively surface insights.
- Set the technical bar for data engineering
- Establish best practices around architecture, code quality, testing, monitoring, and deployment.
- Build the data function over time
- Start hands-on, then hire, mentor, and lead data engineers and analytics talent as the company scales.
What We’re Looking For
- 7+ years of experience in data engineering or data platform roles
- Proven experience in DTC / e-commerce environments (subscriptions strongly preferred)
- Demonstrated ownership of data architecture, pipelines, and analytics foundations
- Strong SQL and Python skills, with experience operating cloud-based data platforms
- Experience integrating and modeling data from tools like Shopify, GA4, Klaviyo, and marketing attribution platforms
- Strong judgment in choosing tools and architecture—pragmatic, scalable, and business-driven
- Comfortable operating as both a hands-on builder and technical leader
- Clear communicator who can work effectively with non-technical stakeholders
