We are seeking a Lead Engineer who is passionate about using technology to solve real-world health challenges. In this role, you will be a technical leader, architecting the scalable systems that power our genomics, wellness, and early detection platforms. Your Mission: Architect for Scale and Impact
You will be a cornerstone of our engineering team, responsible for building robust, scalable applications and elevating the technical skills of those around you. Your work will be foundational to our mission of 'enhancing life through science.'
Key Responsibilities:
- Technical Leadership & Architecture: Design, develop, and own critical components of our distributed systems, ensuring they are scalable, highly available, and secure.
- Mentorship & Best Practices: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence, code quality, and continuous learning.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work directly with Product Management, Data Science, and Lab Operations to translate complex health science requirements into elegant technical solutions.
- Full-Stack Development & DevOps: Contribute across our stack—from backend services to deployment pipelines—writing clean, maintainable, and well-tested code.
- Drive Technical Excellence: Proactively identify and address technical debt, champion engineering best practices (BDD/TDD, CI/CD), and stay ahead of emerging technologies to keep our platform at the cutting edge.
About You: The Ideal Candidate
You are a pragmatic engineer who loves building scalable systems and is motivated by solving complex problems with real-world impact.
Required Qualifications & Experience:
- 4+ years of professional software engineering experience, with a degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent practical experience.
- Proven experience in building and maintaining distributed, high-availability systems.
- Strong proficiency in multiple programming languages and a deep understanding of computer science fundamentals (Data Structures, Algorithms, OOP, Functional Programming).
- A collaborative mindset with excellent communication skills and a passion for mentoring.
