We are seeking a dedicated and technically proficient Senior Officer/Executive to join our Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient (API) Manufacturing Plant in Navi Mumbai. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for supervising shop floor activities, ensuring strict compliance with quality and safety standards, and driving the efficient production of critical pharmaceutical ingredients.
Your Key Responsibilities
Production Planning & Shop Floor Supervision
- Plan production batches according to monthly schedules, allocate jobs across shifts, and supervise all shop floor activities to ensure strict adherence to Batch Manufacturing Records (BMR).
- Coordinate with Engineering, Warehouse, and Quality (IPQC) departments to ensure smooth plant operations and verify in-process sample results.
Materials, Documentation & SAP Management
- Ensure timely availability of raw and packaging materials by raising SAP requests and verifying received quantities.
- Prepare, update, and maintain critical documents including BMR, BPR, SOPs, and cleaning records, ensuring timely submission to the Quality Assurance (QA) department.
- Manage and complete all SAP PP module entries for production batches, including purchase requisitions and production tracking.
Quality, Compliance & Safety Leadership
- Report process deviations, raise change controls, and supervise proper hazardous waste disposal to ensure compliance.
- Enforce strict safety protocols, maintain PPE inventory, and report all incidents to the plant in-charge.
- Raise and follow up on work permits for maintenance and ensure safe plant opening/closing procedures.
- Assist in preparations for ISO, GMP, and regulatory audits and support EHS management systems (ISO 14001 & 45001).
Team Management & Development
- Approve leave, shift changes, and overtime for production staff.
- Conduct training sessions for staff on production procedures, cGMP, and safety practices.
- Maintain excellent housekeeping standards to ensure a safe, efficient, and compliant work environment.
Your Profile: Qualifications & Competencies
Technical Competencies:
- Proficient in operating key API plant equipment (reactors, distillation, crystallization, filtration, drying).
- Strong knowledge of GMP, documentation, change control, deviations, CAPA, and validation (Process, Cleaning, Equipment Qualification).
- Advanced user of SAP PP, DCS, DLS, and MS Office.
- Well-versed in safety protocols, work permit systems, and ISO 14001/45001 compliance.
