🎯 JOB OVERVIEW
We are seeking an experienced Legal Counsel to oversee all legal and secretarial matters of the Hartalega Group. You will provide strategic legal leadership, safeguard the organization’s interests, and maintain a robust legal framework that supports business strategy and global operations. This role encompasses contract negotiation, corporate governance, compliance, and stakeholder advisory in a dynamic, high-growth manufacturing environment.
đź“‹ KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
đź“‘ Contract Management & Negotiation
- Draft, analyze, and negotiate contracts, agreements, and legal documents across commercial, supply chain, and operational domains.
- Identify, evaluate, and resolve legal issues in contracts, litigation, and commercial matters.
🏛️ Corporate Governance & Advisory
- Participate in meetings, negotiations, and due diligence for corporate restructuring, joint ventures, and financing.
- Liaise with external company secretaries for statutory compliance, board resolutions, and corporate records.
- Provide legal advisory to internal stakeholders, ensuring company interests are protected.
🔍 Compliance & Risk Management
- Keep abreast of laws and regulatory developments relevant to the organization and advise on potential impacts.
- Establish sound legal guidelines, policies, and processes aligned with business direction.
- Act as the custodian of all legal documents and contracts, ensuring contractual obligations are met.
🤝 External Coordination & Leadership
- Liaise with external solicitors on legal matters involving the organization.
- Provide strategic legal leadership across the Group, fostering a culture of compliance and risk awareness.
👤 YOUR PROFILE
âś… ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's Degree in Law from a recognized institution.
- Minimum 10 years of working experience in legal practice or as in-house counsel, preferably within manufacturing, healthcare, or publicly listed companies.
- Experience in corporate, commercial, litigation, and conveyancing.
- Articulate with excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and analytical skills.
- Strong research, writing, and strategic thinking abilities.

- Experience in international trade, supply chain agreements, or regulatory compliance within a global manufacturing context.
- Familiarity with Malaysian corporate law, governance standards, and ESG regulations.
