We're looking for a Production Supervisor to join us.
THE POSITION
Job Title: Production Supervisor
Department: Manufacturing
Location: Malaysia
Reports To: Production Executive / Engineer / Manager
Work Schedule: Shift rotation
Education Required: SPM / Certificate / Diploma in Engineering
Experience Required: 3-4 years in glove manufacturing preferred
WHY THIS ROLE EXISTS
Production lines don't run themselves. Equipment needs monitoring. People need direction. Quality needs checking. Problems need solving.
The Production Supervisor is the person who makes all of this happen—shift after shift, day after day.
You'll lead a team of Group Leaders and Machine Operators. You'll ensure production targets are met, quality standards are maintained, and safety practices are followed. You'll be the bridge between the production floor and management.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
Team Leadership
- Organize and allocate machine operators to Group Leaders for each shift
- Manage rest time scheduling for Group Leaders
- Ensure Group Leaders perform tasks according to work instructions and SOPs
- Address problems that subordinates cannot resolve
- Check and recommend actions for worker absenteeism
Training
- Provide on-job training to newly recruited workers
- Train both Group Leaders and Machine Operators
- Document all training in Employee Training Records
Production Management
- Monitor production output and quality metrics
- Work to achieve higher output with low rejection rates
- Check QAI inspection results and resolve production line issues
- Advise management when lines need to stop for former cleaning
Quality and Compliance
- Ensure all parameters remain within required ranges:
- Coagulant
- Polymer
- Powdering
- Latex
- Chlorination
- Check and verify reports submitted by Group Leaders
- Take action on non-compliances and nonconformities
Equipment and Materials
- Monitor latex, coagulant, polymer, and powdering supplies
- Initiate changes when supplies run low
- Ensure all equipment functions properly:
- Chillers and chiller pumps
- Hot water pumps
- Air compressors
- Dust collectors
- Tumbling machines and computers
- Report breakdowns to Engineering and C&I departments
- Conduct equipment and materials inspections per checklists
Coordination
- Work with Engineering on heat requirements for production lines
- Coordinate with Former, Tumbling, and QCP personnel
- Liaise with Compounding Supervisor on chemical or raw material changes
Housekeeping and Safety
- Maintain good housekeeping across all areas:
- Production areas
- Tumbling areas
- Glove storage areas
- Factory premises
- Ensure proper product handling, storage, and preservation
- Enforce company rules and regulations consistently
Reporting
- Report daily production to Executive, Engineer, or Manager
- Escalate unresolved problems appropriately
WHAT YOU NEED
Education
- SPM / Certificate / Diploma in Engineering
Experience
- 3-4 years in glove manufacturing (preferred)
Languages
- Able to read, write, and speak Bahasa Malaysia
- Able to read, write, and speak English
Skills
- Communication and human relations

THE SHIFT CYCLE
Start of Shift
- Receive handover from previous supervisor
- Check production status and outstanding issues
- Brief Group Leaders on shift priorities
During Shift
- Monitor production lines and output
- Address any quality issues that arise
- Ensure equipment is functioning properly
- Check supplies and initiate changes as needed
- Provide on-job training as required
- Coordinate with other departments
End of Shift
- Review production data and reports
- Verify Group Leader submissions
- Document any issues or non-conformances
- Prepare handover for next supervisor
- Report to management on shift performance
HOW SUCCESS IS MEASURED
Production Metrics
Output targets are met. Rejection rates remain low. Downtime is minimized.
Quality Metrics
Products meet specifications. Parameters stay within ranges. Non-conformities are addressed promptly.
Team Performance
Group Leaders perform tasks correctly. New workers are trained effectively. Problems are escalated appropriately.
Operational Metrics
Coordination between departments runs smoothly. Equipment issues are reported and resolved. Housekeeping standards are maintained.
Compliance
ISO and GMP requirements are followed. Documentation is complete. Safety practices are observed.
