The Opportunity
Due to exciting growth, we have a permanent opportunity for a passionate, service-oriented junior HR professional to join our global People and Culture (P&C) Services team in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Reporting to the Director of P&C Service & Experience - APAC, you will be a key player in our high-performing global people services function. You will deliver a seamless, positive employee experience as the first point of contact for P&C queries across the employee lifecycle in the APAC region. Your Role: HR Services Specialist
You will be the vital link between our employees and the broader P&C team, ensuring accurate, timely, and empathetic support.
Your responsibilities include:
- Resolving P&C Queries: Act as the first point of contact, resolving people and culture questions from employees and managers across APAC.
- HR System & Process Management: Action help cases and process employee lifecycle changes accurately in Workday (our HCM system).
- Policy Guidance & Triage: Interpret policies and processes to provide clear advice. Triage complex queries to specialist P&C partners.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Build strong relationships with stakeholders across the global Cochlear business.
- Project & Initiative Support: Take on challenging projects for exposure to all HR facets. Support the deployment of new P&C programs and processes.
- Documentation & Continuous Improvement: Create and maintain critical employee documents. Always look for opportunities to improve efficiency and impact.
- Payroll Support: Assist with and support accurate payroll processing.
About You
We are looking for people who share our passion for delivering exceptional service. To be successful, you can demonstrate:
Required Skills & Experience:
- 1-2 years of experience working in an HR function, with exposure to administration, documentation, and HR systems management.
- A strong commitment to delivering a high level of customer service.
- Ability to interpret and apply HR policies, processes, and documentation.
- Proficiency in navigating and maintaining data in HR systems; experience with Workday or SuccessFactors is a significant advantage.
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
- A high degree of accuracy and attention to detail when handling data.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work autonomously while using good judgment to escalate issues appropriately.
- A collaborative mindset, able to work effectively within a regional & global team.
