About the Role: Production Shift Supervisor
We are seeking a hands-on and decisive Production Shift Supervisor to lead our frontline manufacturing operations. You will be responsible for supervising a team of Group Leaders, ensuring the seamless execution of daily production tasks while upholding the highest standards of quality, safety, and efficiency. You will be the critical link between management and the production floor, driving output and enforcing our world-class manufacturing standards.
Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership & Operations Management
- Directly supervise a team of Group Leaders, organizing shift allocations, rest periods, and daily task assignments for machine operators.
- Provide on-the-job training to new recruits (Group Leaders and Machine Operators) and maintain accurate training records.
- Enforce company policies, safety regulations, and strict adherence to ISO 9001, ISO 13485, and GMP requirements.
- Resolve escalated personnel and production issues, reporting any unresolved problems to the Production Executive/Manager.
Production Efficiency & Quality Control
- Drive higher production output with low rejection rates, making critical decisions on line stoppages for cleaning and maintenance.
- Monitor and verify all production reports submitted by Group Leaders, taking immediate corrective action for any non-conformities.
- Check Quality Assurance Inspection (QAI) results and lead problem-solving efforts to address production line issues.
- Ensure all process parameters (coagulant, polymer, latex, chlorination) are within strict specification limits.
Equipment, Materials & Logistics Coordination
- Ensure all production equipment (chillers, compressors, tumbling machines, etc.) is functioning optimally and coordinate with the Engineering and C&I departments for any breakdowns.
- Monitor and manage the supply of key materials (latex, coagulant, polymer, powdering), initiating changes as required.
- Coordinate heat requirements with the engineering department and liaise with compounding, former, tumbling, and quality control personnel to ensure smooth operations.
- Maintain excellent housekeeping and proper product handling/storage across all production, tumbling, and storage areas.
Qualifications & Requirements
Education:
- SPM, Certificate, or Diploma in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Chemical, or related field).
Experience:
- Minimum of 3-4 years of experience in a supervisory role within a manufacturing environment.
- Direct experience in a glove manufacturing plant is highly preferred.
Technical & Professional Skills:
- Proven supervisory, communication, and human relations skills.
- Ability to read, write, and speak fluently in Bahasa Malaysia and English.
- Strong planning, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
- Must be willing and able to work on a rotating shift schedule.
- A solid understanding of production planning, quality systems, and equipment maintenance.
