We are seeking a visionary Principal Software Engineer to architect the next-generation developer experience for our Healthcare Informatics platform. You will possess world-class technical expertise and a deep empathy for developers, guiding our strategic shift towards cloud-native architecture, inner-sourcing, and a world-class platform that delights our engineering community.
Your Mission: Lead Technical Strategy & Empower Developers
You will be the technical cornerstone for our platform evolution, driving architectural decisions and fostering a culture of excellence and innovation. Your leadership will directly influence the efficiency and satisfaction of hundreds of developers building life-saving healthcare technology.
Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities
Technical Leadership & Strategy:
- Architect & Drive our cloud-native transformation, providing thought leadership on architecture, process, tools, and technologies.
- Reimagine and migrate existing product/platform architectures to the cloud, focusing on decomposing monoliths, scalability, resiliency, observability, and security.
- Drive product roadmaps and migration plans to achieve strategic business and technical goals.
- Build and lead our inner-sourcing/open-sourcing strategy, fostering a collaborative developer community.
Developer Experience & Community:
- Champion a developer-first mentality, designing an opinionated yet empathetic developer experience that abstracts complexity and accelerates development.
- Collaborate across the enterprise to drive consensus and adoption of platform offerings.
- Mentor and grow talent, building a world-class development culture focused on engineering excellence.
Execution & Influence:
- Present ideas and influence decisions with stakeholders at all levels, from engineers to senior leadership.
- Deliver documentation alongside code, ensuring clarity and maintainability.
- Uphold strong testing practices, source control strategies, and automated quality gates.
Your Profile: Qualifications & Experience
Essential Experience:
- 15+ years of professional software development with a proven track record of full-lifecycle product development.
- 8+ years of hands-on experience with public cloud (AWS), building services using Kubernetes, Docker, serverless, and other cloud-native technologies.
- Extensive experience delivering codebases across multiple languages (Java, JavaScript, Python, Go).
- Deep knowledge of source control (GitHub/Bitbucket), CI/CD, and modern development practices.
