Our Product Lifecycle Engineering (PLE) team is the design authority for ResMed’s life-support ventilator platforms, including Astral and Stellar. We ensure these critical devices meet the highest standards of safety, quality, reliability, and regulatory compliance throughout their entire operational life.
Electrical Engineering is at the core of this mission. In this role, you will sustain and enhance complex electronic systems, tackle component obsolescence, lead root-cause investigations, and drive design improvements. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to ensure every device remains clinically trusted and technically robust worldwide.

You will provide technical leadership for electronics within the product lifecycle, from sustaining engineering and risk assessment to the development of next-generation iterations. Your work directly impacts the continuous safety and performance of devices that support patients globally.
đź“‹ KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
đź”§ Technical Leadership & Development
- Provide technical leadership for electronics designs aligned with business priorities, including the specification and development of new products with significant revenue impact.
- Optimize the analysis, review, testing, certification, and documentation of new electronic designs.
- Ensure seamless transition of electronic designs from prototype to volume production at contract manufacturers.
🛠️ Problem Solving & Risk Management
- Coordinate technical problem-solving activities, including root cause analysis, solution design, and validation.
- Proactively anticipate project risks and implement measures to address challenges faced by the team.
- Engage across the organization to refine working methods and ensure robust engineering processes.
👨‍🏫 Mentorship & Process Excellence
- Coach and mentor engineers within the group as a subject matter expert in electronic design and lifecycle management.
- Identify opportunities for skills and knowledge improvement across the team.
- May include liaising with and managing outsourced product development partners.
👤 YOUR PROFILE
âś… ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in Electronics Engineering or equivalent, with extensive knowledge of electronic components and design technologies.
- Proven experience in a product development environment delivering high-quality, volume-produced electronics.
- Demonstrated responsibility for the successful integration/development of a complex board-level design and its transfer into production.
- Strong technical leadership capability with the ability to guide engineering teams.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage stakeholders and clear roadblocks.
- Experience in supplier engagement, from evaluation and selection to ongoing collaboration and quality assurance.
🌟 PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Expertise in battery technologies and battery management systems, including chemistry, safety, fuel gauging, and global compliance.
- Background in medical devices or another highly regulated industry where product quality is paramount.
- Familiarity with regulatory standards applicable to medical electronic systems.
