Ensure financial excellence for a global clinical research leader. ICON is seeking a Financial Accountant II in Chennai to manage financial reporting, statutory compliance, and accounting operations for multiple entities. In this hybrid role, you will prepare management accounts, handle complex balance sheet reconciliations, and ensure SOX compliance, playing a critical role in maintaining the financial integrity that supports our mission to advance healthcare.
Key Responsibilities
You will be responsible for end-to-end accounting operations and statutory compliance for multiple ICON entities.
Financial Reporting & Compliance:
- Prepare monthly management accounts and financial statements for multiple entities.
- Ensure compliance with local statutory requirements including VAT returns, corporate tax filings, and financial statements.
- Maintain trial balance and complete comprehensive balance sheet reconciliations.
- Ensure all processes are SOX compliant and support internal/external audits.
Accounting Operations & Analysis:
- Perform cost-plus revenue calculations and weekly cash-flow monitoring and reporting.
- Partner with local financial advisors to ensure accurate local accounts and efficient information flow.
- Assist with forecast and budget preparation and support the Finance Manager with various information requirements.
Your Profile
Essential Qualifications:
- Qualified or Semi-Qualified professional (CA, ACA, CIMA, or ACCA).
- 2 years of post-qualification experience in accounts preparation.
- Comprehensive experience in R2R, GL accounting, P&L management, VAT, and financial statements.
- Advanced Excel skills and comfort with financial systems (Oracle Financials is a bonus).
Required Skills:
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to explain financial data clearly.
- Ability to work independently and as an outstanding team partner.
- Strong understanding of statutory accounting requirements and compliance.
- Open to candidates from both practice and industry backgrounds.
