🎯 Your Impact: Key Responsibilities
Project Financial Management
- Participate in Project Handover from Business Development to understand contractual impacts on financials
- Support Project Managers in forecasting hours and monitoring revenue recognition throughout project lifecycle
- Review monthly project financial performance and billing status with detailed variance analysis
- Track forecast-to-actual performance and report trends and anomalies
Financial Operations & Reporting
- Manage month-end close processes including investigator payments, pass-through expenses, and accruals
- Forecast contractor hours and ensure appropriate subcontractor cost accruals
- Reconcile billing milestones, foreign exchange fluctuations, and inflation impacts
- Review monthly AR aging and support finance collections as needed
Performance Analysis & Strategy
- Prepare and review monthly project profitability reports and financial analysis
- Identify and escalate scope change opportunities following Scope Change SOP
- Monitor key metrics to identify financial trends and performance issues
- Support annual audit preparations with relevant documentation
Process Improvement & Quality
- Contribute to development and centralization of Project Finance processes and systems
- Identify continuous improvement opportunities within areas of responsibility
- Ensure compliance with Emerald Clinical Quality Management Strategy and SOPs
- Participate in audit and inspection activities as required
⭐ Your Profile: Qualifications & Experience
Essential Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or related field
- 8+ years of professional experience with 4+ years in project finance
- Experience in CRO, life sciences, or pharmaceutical industries preferred
- Master's degree or MBA strongly preferred
Technical Expertise
- Strong financial modeling and analytical skills (Advanced Excel required)
- Experience with Power BI, SAP, or Oracle is a plus
- Understanding of project financing structures and instruments
- Knowledge of revenue recognition principles and financial reporting
