The Opportunity
We are seeking a visionary and entrepreneurial Business Lead for Sequencing to shape and drive our next-generation sequencing (NGS) business across the Asia Pacific (APAC) region. This is a high-impact leadership role where you will define commercial strategy, build new business models, and lead a regional and affiliate network of teams. You will be at the forefront of bringing innovative genomic solutions to market, transforming patient care, and solidifying Roche's leadership in precision medicine. Your Mission: Shape the Market & Accelerate Growth for Sequencing
As the Business Lead, you will be the strategic and operational captain for the Sequencing portfolio across APAC. You will translate market trends and customer needs into a winning commercial strategy, mobilize the organization, and deliver exceptional business results.
Key Responsibilities
1. Strategic Leadership & Commercial Vision
- Develop and implement the overarching APAC Sequencing business strategy, driving market leadership and growth.
- Propose and articulate a compelling vision that creates strategic alignment and mobilizes the organization.
- Stay ahead of external trends (technological, regulatory, competitive) to identify future opportunities and risks.
- Make strategic, customer-centric decisions on product/segment launches and innovative commercial models.
2. Portfolio & Launch Excellence
- Consolidate regional needs to inform global portfolio prioritization and development.
- Lead the implementation of the Launch Powerhouse (LPH) framework to ensure flawless, structured commercialization of new products.
- Drive cross-functional collaboration within agile frameworks to support product launches and lifecycle management.
3. Team Leadership & Ecosystem Development
- Lead, coach, and develop the regional sequencing team and the broader affiliate network, fostering a high-performance culture.
- Recruit, integrate, and upskill commercial talent across APAC (Commercialization Readiness).
- Mentor and manage the commercialization network, driving collective strategy execution.
- Build and nurture relationships with key opinion leaders, laboratories, and healthcare institutions across the region.
- Support the upscaling of the Service & Support network and collaborate on solutions selling.
Who You Are: The Ideal Leader
You are a passionate, decisive leader with a proven track record of building and scaling businesses in the diagnostics or life sciences sector. You are a strategic thinker, an inspirational coach, and an agile operator who thrives in ambiguity and drives for results.
Your Required Profile:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field (Life Sciences, Business). An advanced degree (MBA, Masters, PhD, MD) is highly desired; an MBA is a strong advantage.
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive work experience, with proven success in building and growing a laboratory discipline or diagnostics-based business.
- Extensive experience and expertise in the Asia Pacific region is required.
- Proven ability to establish a vision, set strategy, and execute with measurable results.
- Demonstrated team management and people development experience, with a reputation for building trust and inspiring teams.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with experience incubating new initiatives or leading in agile environments within a large corporate setting.
- Familiarity with technological trends (e.g., genomics, AI) reshaping healthcare.
- Willingness to travel approximately 30% across the APAC region.
