The Role
We are seeking an experienced leader for the role of Senior Manager, Laboratory Instrumentation & Services. You will be responsible for the comprehensive management of our R&D laboratory equipment portfolio—ensuring all instruments operate efficiently, safely, and in full compliance with regulatory standards. Your leadership will be critical in maintaining the foundational tools that enable our scientists to conduct groundbreaking research.
Your Responsibilities: Strategic Leadership of Lab Assets
You will oversee the end-to-end lifecycle of laboratory instrumentation, from procurement to decommissioning, ensuring uninterrupted scientific operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Instrument Lifecycle Management: Lead the planning, procurement, installation, and qualification of new laboratory instruments and equipment.
- Maintenance & Compliance Oversight: Manage preventive maintenance, calibration schedules, and service contracts for all lab instruments to ensure continuous, compliant operation. Develop and enforce related SOPs.
- Primary Operational Liaison: Serve as the key point of contact between lab users, vendors, and facilities teams for equipment issues, minimizing downtime and ensuring rapid resolution.
- Lab Infrastructure Projects: Support lab relocations, expansions, and reconfigurations, managing all instrumentation requirements.
- Systems & Process Leadership: Utilize Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) and asset tracking tools to manage the instrument portfolio efficiently.
Your Skills & Experience: The Lab Operations Expert
You are a seasoned professional with deep technical knowledge of laboratory operations and a proven track record in instrumentation management within a regulated environment.
Essential:
- Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences, Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Minimum of 10+ years of progressive experience in laboratory operations, facilities management, or a related field, with a dedicated focus on instrumentation management.
- Strong knowledge of a wide range of lab equipment across analytical, biological, and chemical disciplines.
- Hands-on experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) and asset management tools.
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements such as GLP, GMP, and ISO standards as they apply to laboratory operations and equipment.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills with a proven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives.
