About the Role: Senior Proposal Manager
You will be a critical architect of our growth as a Senior Proposal Manager. In this pivotal role, you will lead the development of compelling, strategic proposals that win new business. You will own the end-to-end response process for complex Requests for Proposals (RFPs), transforming client requirements into winning narratives that showcase Emerald’s scientific expertise and operational excellence. This is a high-impact role where your work directly shapes our future portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
End-to-End Proposal Leadership:
- Take ownership of the entire RFP response process, from initial analysis to final submission and debrief.
- Develop, write, and manage strategic, high-quality proposals, ensuring they are perfectly aligned with client needs and our company’s capabilities.
- Lead proposal kick-off meetings, establish clear timelines, and drive the process to ensure on-time delivery.
- Manage multiple complex proposals simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
Collaboration & Content Development:
- Collaborate closely with subject matter experts (SMEs), sales, operations, and finance teams to gather accurate information and craft tailored, persuasive content.
- Synthesize technical and operational input into clear, compelling, and client-focused proposal narratives.
- Review and edit all proposal content for clarity, consistency, grammatical precision, and strategic messaging.
Process Excellence & Continuous Improvement:
- Ensure strict compliance with client instructions and adherence to internal governance and submission protocols.
- Maintain and enhance proposal templates, databases, and boilerplate content to improve efficiency and quality.
- Analyze proposal outcomes and feedback to refine strategies, processes, and content for future wins.
About You: Qualifications & Experience
Requirements:
- A Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Marketing, Life Sciences, or a related field is preferred.
- Significant experience, typically 8+ years, in proposal development and management within a CRO, pharmaceutical, or clinical research services environment.
- Proven track record of managing the full RFP lifecycle for complex, multi-service clinical trials.
