The Opportunity: Shape the Future of Biopharmaceutical Manufacturing
This Trainee Scheme is a prestigious talent development programme aimed at building Singapore's next generation of skilled biopharmaceutical manufacturing professionals. Jointly supported by Workforce Singapore (WSG) and the Workforce Advancement Federation (WAF), the programme includes a 15-month local attachment with Roche.
This is your launchpad into a high-tech, impactful career. You will gain hands-on experience in maintaining state-of-the-art facilities and equipment in a world-class Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) environment, ensuring the production of life-changing medicines.
Key Responsibilities
As a trainee, you will be integrated into our maintenance operations team, learning to:
- Execute Maintenance Tasks: Perform and complete maintenance work orders for manufacturing and utility equipment in full compliance with cGMP, Safety, Health & Environment (SHE), and Quality standards.
- Ensure Operational Excellence: Review job packages, complete maintenance logs with high-quality equipment history, and accurately record work in our computerized maintenance management system.
- Troubleshoot & Problem-Solve: Diagnose equipment issues, perform repairs and adjustments, and restore equipment to service with minimal downtime. Participate in Root Cause Analyses (RCA) to prevent future failures.
- Perform Preventive Maintenance: Conduct scheduled Preventive & Predictive Maintenance (PPM) inspections, lubrication, and restoration work to maximize equipment reliability.
- Support Plant Operations: Provide direct support to manufacturing and utility teams during routine operations, shutdowns, and product changeovers.
- Uphold Safety & Compliance: Coordinate Lock-Out Tag-Out (LOTO) procedures, adhere to all safety practices, and comply with all site security and SHE requirements.
Who You Are: Qualifications & Attributes
Required:
- A Diploma / ITC in Mechanical, Marine, Chemical, or Process Engineering.
- A strong interest in the operation and maintenance of complex production and utility systems.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Self-motivated, a team player, customer-focused, with high attention to detail.
- Good written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Ability to read and comprehend equipment schematics, assembly drawings, and diagrams.
- Willingness to perform shift work as required.
Preferred/Please Note:
- Willingness to work at our Roche Singapore Technical Operations (RSTO) site in Tuas.
- This role involves shift arrangements.
