About the Role
Position Title: Intern – Full-Time (6 Months)
The Junior Business Solutions Associate supports the Business Solutions team in the day‑to‑day administration and use of business systems that enable Emerald Clinical projects. This role is designed for early‑career professionals and focuses on learning, hands‑on support, and gradual development of system and process expertise under guidance from senior team members.
Your Responsibilities
Service Request
Receive, log, and process service requests related to Business Solutions systems (e.g. user access, data updates, minor configuration requests).
Work on assigned service requests and ensure timely resolution within agreed Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
Communicate clearly with internal users regarding request status, expected timelines, and resolutions.
Escalate issues that cannot be resolved at own level to senior team members, with clear documentation.
Ensure all service requests are accurately updated and closed in the ticketing system.
System Administration support
Perform routine administrative tasks in business systems as per defined procedures and approvals.
Validate request details before execution to ensure completeness and correctness.
Follow documented processes and checklists to maintain data quality and compliance.
Maintain accurate records and audit trails for all activities performed.
Quality, Compliance and Adherance
Follow all applicable SOPs, guidelines, and system usage policies.
Complete assigned tasks with a strong focus on quality, accuracy, and consistency.
Identify recurring issues or trends in service requests and flag them to the team for review.
Promptly report any system issues, risks, or potential compliance concerns to senior team members.
Training and Development
Complete mandatory training and role‑specific system training within defined timelines.
Learn and build proficiency in supported systems through hands‑on request handling and coaching.
Actively seek feedback to improve efficiency, accuracy, and customer support skills.
Participate in performance reviews, objective setting, and development discussions.
Customer Focus and Teamwork
Provide professional, responsive, and courteous support to internal stakeholders.
Work collaboratively with Business Solutions team members to meet workload and SLA commitments.
Share learning, process updates, and common issues with the team to support continuous improvement.
Work Health and Safety
Comply with Work Health & Safety (WH&S) legislation and operate in accordance with established organisational WH&S practice and procedures
Promote and contribute to a safe, secure environment for staff and visitors
About You
Essential
Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Pharmacy, Biotechnology, IT, or a related field.
Willingness to work in a support‑focused role with measurable SLA commitments.
Desirable
Exposure to IT service management or ticketing tools (e.g. Freshservice, Zendesk, Jira).
Basic awareness of clinical or enterprise systems (through coursework, internship, or training).
Experience in clinical research software (eg., CTMS, eTMF, Veeva systems, IRT and EDC)
Knowledge of regulatory guidelines (ICH/GCP, AMA, GAMP5)
Familiarity with clinical trial terminology and processes
