Build the Tools That Power the Future of Digital Health
At ResMed, we’re changing lives with every breath. Our mission is to improve patient quality of life and reduce healthcare costs through our next-generation connected health platforms. The technology our product engineers build is critical to this mission, and the Developer Experience (DevX) team is the force multiplier that enables them to innovate faster and more reliably.
We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our Developer Experience team. This isn't just another software role; you will be an architect of productivity, building the foundational platforms, tools, and services that empower hundreds of engineers across ResMed. If you have world-class technical skills and a deep sense of empathy for the challenges of modern software development, this is your chance to have an outsized impact on our digital health ecosystem.
Your Mission: Elevate Engineering Excellence
You will be a strategic leader and builder, responsible for creating a seamless, efficient, and joyful development environment that accelerates the entire product engineering organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Architect the Inner Source Ecosystem: Lead our inner-sourcing strategy, foster a vibrant internal developer community, and build the tools that promote collaboration and code reuse across all of ResMed.
- Drive Cloud-Native Transformation: Champion and guide the migration from legacy systems to cloud-native architectures (AWS, Kubernetes, serverless), building the paved paths that make this transition smooth and standardized.
- Own the Full Product Lifecycle: Take ownership of our internal platforms from concept and design through to delivery, observability, and ongoing customer (internal developer) satisfaction.
- Ensure Platform Reliability: Build and maintain robust observability, monitoring, and alerting for our core services. Participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation to ensure production stability, applying SRE principles.
- Provide Technical Leadership: Influence product roadmaps, contribute to strategic plans, and provide thought leadership on architecture, tools, and processes across the engineering organization.
About You: The Ideal Candidate
You are a seasoned engineer who gets as much satisfaction from enabling your peers as you do from writing elegant code.
Required Qualifications:
- BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent professional experience.
- 6+ years of professional software development experience with proficiency across multiple languages (e.g., Java, Go, Python, TypeScript).
- Proven experience modernizing legacy systems and leading migrations to cloud-native architectures on a major public cloud (AWS preferred).
- Deep, hands-on expertise with source control (GitHub/Bitbucket), CI/CD pipelines, and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
- A strong commitment to code quality, robust testing practices, and clear documentation.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and practical experience with Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles.
What Will Make You Stand Out:
- 4+ years of deep, hands-on experience with AWS, Kubernetes, and Docker.
- Experience managing developer tools like JFrog Artifactory and integrating them into CI/CD ecosystems.
- Familiarity with GenAI and its practical application to improve developer workflows.
- Proficiency with monitoring stacks like Datadog, Splunk, or the ELK stack.
- A proven track record of troubleshooting complex production issues in a cloud environment.
Why This Role is a Force Multiplier for Your Career:
- Massive Impact: The tools and platforms you build will be leveraged by hundreds of engineers, directly accelerating the development of life-changing health technologies.
- Technical Leadership: You will be a go-to expert on cloud-native architecture and modern development practices, shaping the technical future of ResMed.
- Autonomy & Ownership: We trust you to identify the biggest bottlenecks and own the solution from start to finish.
- A Culture of Innovation: Join a mission-driven company where your work directly contributes to improving patient outcomes on a global scale.
If you are passionate about building the future of developer experience and want to use your skills to make a tangible difference in healthcare, we need you.
