Lead the Platform That Powers Digital Health Innovation
At ResMed, we’re changing lives with every breath. Our mission to improve patient outcomes is powered by the technology our engineers build. The Developer Experience (DevX) team is the strategic force multiplier for our entire product engineering organization, building the foundational platforms and tools that enable hundreds of engineers to deliver secure, scalable, and compliant healthcare solutions faster.
We are seeking an Engineering Manager to lead our Developer Experience team. This is more than a management role; it's an opportunity to shape the engineering culture and velocity of a global digital health leader. You will own the platform that abstracts away complexity, allowing product teams to focus on what matters most: building features that directly impact patient care.
Your Mission: Build the Foundation for Engineering Excellence
You will be responsible for both the people leadership and technical vision for the DevX team, creating an environment where engineers can do their best work and where our internal platforms set the standard for reliability and developer joy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead & Develop Elite Talent: Manage, mentor, and grow a team of 3-6 high-performing platform engineers. Foster a culture of innovation, ownership, and continuous improvement through clear career development and impactful coaching.
- Define the Platform Vision & Roadmap: Collaborate with senior leadership and cross-functional stakeholders to build and execute a strategic, value-driven roadmap for our internal developer platform, balancing innovation with stability.
- Drive Technical Excellence: Oversee the delivery of scalable, reliable platform features—from CI/CD pipelines and cloud infrastructure to inner-source tooling—that directly measurably improve developer productivity and satisfaction.
- Champion the Developer: Be the relentless advocate for a "developer-first" mindset across ResMed. Gather feedback, identify friction points in the development lifecycle, and ensure our internal customers have a seamless, efficient experience.
- Modernize & Standardize: Lead the charge on modernizing legacy systems and establishing engineering best practices, standards, and architectural patterns that raise the bar for the entire organization.
- Foster Community: Drive our inner-sourcing strategy and cultivate a vibrant, collaborative developer community that encourages knowledge sharing and cross-team contribution.
About You: The Ideal Candidate
You are a leader who is equally passionate about growing people and building robust, scalable platforms. You thrive on enabling other engineers to succeed.
Required Qualifications:
- BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
- 8+ years of software/platform engineering experience, including at least 2+ years in a direct people leadership role.
- Proven experience building and operating production systems with a focus on reliability, observability, and scalability.
- Deep, hands-on expertise with public cloud platforms (AWS preferred), Kubernetes, Docker, and modern CI/CD practices.
- Proficiency in multiple programming languages (e.g., Java, Go, Python, JavaScript/TypeScript).
- Strong architectural skills and a track record of successfully modernizing legacy systems.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence both technical and non-technical audiences.
What Will Make You Stand Out:
- Experience integrating Generative AI tools to enhance developer workflows.
- Hands-on experience managing production Kubernetes clusters.
- Familiarity with infrastructure monitoring tools like Datadog, Splunk, or the ELK stack.
Why This Role is a Force Multiplier for Your Career:
- Unprecedented Scale of Impact: The platforms and tools your team builds will be leveraged by hundreds of engineers, directly accelerating the development of life-changing health technologies.
- Strategic Leadership Role: You will have a seat at the table, shaping the engineering culture, practices, and future technical direction of a global digital health leader.
- Autonomy & Ownership: We trust you to define the vision, build the roadmap, and execute on a strategy that powers the entire engineering organization.
- Mission-Driven Work: Join a company where your leadership directly contributes to improving patient outcomes and reducing healthcare costs on a global scale.
If you are a leader who is passionate about building world-class platforms and developing exceptional talent, we need you to help us power the future of digital health.
